| Bury is an ideal place to live and work. Taking in the six towns of Bury, Ramsbottom, Tottington, Radcliffe, Whitefield and Prestwich, the Borough is a delightful mix of town and country. |
With a lively nightlife, world famous market, real ale pubs and excellent restaurants, there are also art galleries, museums and relaxing walks including the Irwell Sculpture Trail. Bury offers a choice of nurseries, schools and colleges with the OFSTED report stating that, ‘Pupils in Bury schools consististently achieve standards above the national average in all key areas’.
Situated close to the motorway network, Manchester can be reached in just half an hour. The Metrolink tram system also links Bury with Manchester and on through to Salford and Altrincham.
Bury has won the annual North West in Bloom contest for the last four years in a row. At the present time 10 of our wonderful parks have achieved Green Flag status which is awarded by the environmental charity The Civic Trust. This puts Bury amongst the greenest places in Britain.
The Green Flag success reflects Bury Metro Council's determination, in partnership with the Government, to invest in the Borough's parks as part of the Council's 'Cleaner, Safer, Greener' initiative.
